EMS Services Belgrade partnered with EDF, AETS and RTE international to provide the ELECTRICIDADE DE MOÇAMBIQUE (EDM), Mozambique’s national #electricutility, with advisory services for Market Operations, System Operations, Existing #scada system, Design of the National Control Centre and Design of a Priority Learning Program.   

Srdjan Subotic, EMS’ System Operation Advisor, embedded with EDM within the framework of this project, provided EDM with a long-term Action Map that identified gaps in EDM’s compliance with national #electricity sector regulations, Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) Operating Guidelines and best international practices and proposed strategies for improvement. The System Operation Advisor also trained EDM staff on drafting essential documents and procedures on system operations, quality of #transmission service and technical requirements for #renewableenergy connections to the #grid. 

These activities will improve EDM’s capacity to integrate renewable #generation while maintaining #stability and #reliability of the Mozambique’s national transmission grid and create an enabling environment for the liberalization of the #electricitymarkets.
